Privacy policy
AcuCompass (acucompass.com) is a site for learning acupressure; it shares accounts and records with its sister site timhuyet.com. We collect as little as we can. Without an account, nothing about you leaves your browser.
Using the site without an account
Everything can be read without signing in. The character you choose, your language and your self-care diary are kept in your own browser on your device and are not sent anywhere. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes them.
What we store when you create an account
- Your email address, so you can sign in.
- Your password, if you sign in with email: stored only as a one-way hash; nobody can read it.
- Your Google name and profile picture, if you sign in with Google: Google sends them with the sign-in; we use them for nothing else.
- The records you create: details of your patients or yourself (name, date of birth, sex, pregnancy, medical history, notes), examination and treatment sessions, and face photos and voice recordings if you add them.
Records are kept in your account so you can open them on any device you sign in on. Only your account can read or change your records: the server refuses everyone else. Signing out removes the copy on that device; the records stay in your account.
If you are a practitioner
Health records are sensitive. You are responsible for asking your patients' permission before storing their details, taking photos or recording, and for keeping your devices and password safe.
Where data is kept, and the services we use
- Supabase (servers in Singapore): accounts, records, photos and recordings.
- Resend: sends the confirmation, password-reset and sign-in-link emails.
- Google: Google sign-in, if you choose it. The Google button is loaded from Google when you open the sign-in screen.
- Netlify serves the site; Google Fonts and jsDelivr serve fonts and libraries, and see your IP address when your browser loads them.
- The face finder runs inside your browser: photos are not sent to Google or anyone else for analysis.
We do not sell, rent or share your information; there are no ads and no tracking cookies.
Deleting your account and data
Email us from your account's address to delete your account with all its records, photos and recordings. Deletion is completed within 30 days.
